University of Houston, University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and College of DuPage to Host U.S. Department of State In-Person Advisor Workshops

The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program have selected three U.S. higher education institutions to host in-person advisor workshops.  The following institutions were selected through a competitive process:  University of Houston (workshop on July 12, 2024); University of Maryland, Baltimore County (workshop on October 25, 2024); and College of DuPage (workshop on January 31, 2025).

The purpose of the workshops is to build and strengthen the Gilman Program through networking and sharing strategies for supporting students from the application phase through returning to the U.S. as Gilman alumni.  Workshop topics will range from sharing strategies for Gilman outreach and promotion, essay support and application guidance, engagement with students, and support for Gilman alumni through their follow-on service projects.
