Fulton County volunteer shares his banking expertise with ASPSF recipients

In his role as Community Banker at Simmons Bank in Mammoth Spring, Tramond Day (pictured second from left above with his family) has gone “above and beyond expectations” to help single parent students, ASPSF Program Manager Joy Smith said.

“He is always happy to share information about the program and help with interviewing students in-person or virtual,” she said. “He’s willing to drive long distances to present financial literacy workshops for students, too!”

This spring, he even secured $2,000 from Simmons to fund more single parent scholarships.

To thank Tramond for his incredible service and outstanding financial workshops, Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund is recognizing him as the September 2024 Volunteer of the Month.

“I love to volunteer for ASPSF because of the people that I interact with,” he said. “Whether it is an applicant, a fellow volunteer, or someone in management, every interaction I have had has been nothing short of wonderful. Hearing and seeing some of the stories from applicants and the adversity that they face and overcome is inspiring.”

Tramond has been an ASPSF volunteer since 2021, and he shared that his favorite activity is leading workshops. In fact, the first workshop he hosted remains a special memory for him.

“I was nervous as I am not a public speaker, but the people attending the workshop were engaged and asked some good questions!” he said.

We are grateful to you, Tramond! Thank you for driving across the Ozarks to teach single parent students about banking and finance. Your compassion is truly making a difference.
