Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef or thinly sliced steak (like sirloin or ribeye)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup milk
- 8 oz penne or rotini pasta (or pasta of choice)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese (or a mix of provolone and mozzarella)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Cook the Meat and Vegetables:
- In a large skillet or pot, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef (or steak slices) and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain any excess fat if needed.
- Add the diced green bell pepper, onion, and garlic to the skillet, and cook for 4-5 minutes, until the vegetables are soft.
- Add Broth and Seasonings:
- Stir in the beef broth, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, paprika, and oregano. Mix well.
- Cook the Pasta:
- Add the uncooked pasta to the skillet, stirring to ensure the pasta is mostly submerged in the liquid.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer, cover, and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is cooked and most of the liquid is absorbed.
- Add Cheese:
- Once the pasta is tender, turn off the heat and sprinkle the provolone and cheddar cheese over the top. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.
- Serve:
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired. Enjoy!
